UnitingCare Safety Messaging Strategy
This group project involved developing a new driver safety booklet and safety messaging strategy for the UnitingCare Fleet, tailored to their diverse range of drivers. Working alongside Jemimah Moody and Hui Shan Thoo, we aimed to make essential road safety guidance approachable and easy to follow.
My role focused on creating many of the digital illustrations used throughout the booklet, including the complete set of vehicle graphics. I also compiled and structured the written content, ensuring it paired effectively with the visuals within a clear and consistent layout.
The booklet was printed in a landscape A5 saddle-stitched format.
The booklet covers a broad range of important driver safety topics.
Each topic is explained through clear written content supported by accompanying illustrations.
Some illustrations flow across double-page spreads to convey movement and contrast.
Vehicles are depicted from multiple perspectives to provide clarity and variation.
The layout of each spread is structured to guide the reader’s eye naturally from left to right.
Each spread uses a consistent 9-column by 9-row grid system.
Each fleet vehicle was illustrated in 4 perspectives and at 3 levels of detail to suit different contexts and sizes.
Social media assets were developed to introduce the booklet and encourage drivers to engage with the content.
The messaging strategy emphasised personal responsibility and the shared nature of safe driving.
