Stop Turning A Blind Eye

Design Research Report

This report investigates the extent to which museums and galleries are accessible for blind and visually impaired people. The research explores lived experience, public perceptions, and current accessibility guidelines and technology.

The design of the publication prioritises clarity and readability for people with low vision. Large-print typography, high-contrast colour use, generous spacing, and descriptive image captions were applied throughout to create a format that is comfortable to navigate and reflective of the inclusive experience it advocates for.

Closed publication front cover featuring the title ‘Stop Turning A Blind Eye’, an embossed decorative Braille translation of the title, and the subheading ‘To Inclusive Museum and Gallery Experiences’.

The report was produced as a large-print A3 publication to support accessibility.
